The surgical site has been draped off with a sterile drape and
held in place with towel clamps. An incision was made through
the skin and subcutaneous fat. Next, the surgeon will make an
incision through the internal body wall. Note that there is very
little bleeding which is normal unless a larger blood vessel is cut.
